The Society for Technical Communication

STC is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication. It is the largest organization of its type in the world. Its 25,000 members include technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, Web designers and developers, and translators — anyone whose work makes technical information available to those who need it.

Mission: Creating and supporting a forum for communities of practice in the profession of technical communication.

For more information about the STC organization visit http://www.stc.org

The society is organized in chapters, of which Belgium is one. Belgium is part of Region 2 which includes other European chapters as well as Israel. A joint web site exists for all of the chapters in Region 2 where you can find information about joint activities and topics, as well as links to the individual chapter websites. You can find this web site at http://www.stc-europe.org/

You do not have to be member of the STC to take part in the events organized by the Belgian chapter, though there are distinct advantages in membership.

If you have any questions about the STC or the local Belgian chapter then please feel free to contact us.
